Routes / New York City to Boston

Biking to Boston and up to Bar Harbor this summer.  Wondering if anyone has any advice on which route to take.  Planning on biking up route 9 to Poughkeepsie and meeting up with the atlantic coast route to Boston.  Has anyone done if differently?  Along the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island - because I think I would prefer coastal riding.

i did the northern tier last summer - east bound.
we also decided to cut through (into michigan ) to new york city.

so i would recommend (from nyc) going north on route 9 until Albany.  then west bound through syracuse and rochester to buffalo.  (i forgot the route number - but im sure its on a ny state bike map)

i dont know what this westinghouse is saying and havnt bothered to continue reading it frankly.
im 17 and was just diagnosed with t1d last month.  since then i havnt been bike touring yet - but this summer I biked across the country from Seattle to New York on the northern tier.

i really dont think food is that big of a problem even in the middle of no where.  at least on my trip -  the longest distance we went without a town was about 50 miles and in those conditions - you would stock yourself with high carb and sugar foods.

what route are you taking?  i would be glad to answer any questions
