Routes / Recommandation for 1 month ride in august in low traffic places ?

Hy guys !
4 years ago we cycled the west part of the transam (from boise to the tetons) and man it was awesome... Only concern was the traffic, sometimes to heavy and noisy :/ But i'll always remember the nez pierce region, yellowstone, chief joseph pass, lolo pass... People were so nice too!

This year we'd like to do another trip, we have 1 month in august, we like to do some climbing, we like remote places, about 50 miles per day.
I fear we already cycled the best part of the transam? Maybe someone has an idea for another route ?

Hello,
We're beginning a part of the transam but we're stuck at boise airport since 48hours, waiting for our luggage with all our camping stuff
Our plan to go to baker city has vanished
Now we need a way to get to the transam once our bagaghe arrive...
We can rent a van from boise to ontario. But then we don't know if it's safe to ride to cambridge?
Any help would be appreciated

Hello,
We will be cycling a part of the transam this summer (from baker city to jackson) and then rent a car to take us and the bike to denver aiport (no time to cycle this part)

I wonder if i have to book the car in advance (i don't really know when we'll make it to jackson) and if some renters are cheapper or better ?
We need a car that can take or 2 bikes

I just got the paper maps. They're great ! But gets me worried as it says some parts are with heavy traffic...
We'll try to ride as much "bike only" roads or trails as possible

Sorry i wasn't clear : It's not about skiping yellostone, it's going from missoula to yellowstone via the great divide that i'm questionning

Wich part? Well i don't know yet but from missoula tonyellowstone it seems you can choose the transam or the great divide...
Is the traffic from missoula to west yellostone on the transam bad?

We're thinking about taking the great divide mountain bike section 2 tonavoid traffic in the yellowstone aera. Any thoughts?

Hello guys
We are a french couple, 40, going to cycle the US this year
You helped me deciding the route : we are landing at Boise July 26th and flying back from Denver august 27th.
We will ride the transam to Jackson and then rent a car to go to denver airport.
I ordered the maps for section 3,4,5.

Here is the first question : how to get to the transam from Boise?
There seems to be a great route from Boise to New Meadows on road 55 ? Anybody did it ? There are not a lot of campings, is it allow to free camp

I took the flights
arriving at boise july 26 ; leaving at denver august 26 !!!
will take a bus from boise to baker city ; ride to jackson, rent a car to denver.

The problem with ACA routes is that they try so hard to avoid big cities that it makes it hard to jump into or out of a route in the middle.

Buses are going to offer you more options that trains. You can get to Baker City, Oregon on a bus, so maybe you can still execute a modified version of your plan. You could ride from there to Silverthorne, Colorado, and take a bus into Denver from there. One-way car rentals will be available too from some of the larger towns. For example, if you want you could drive from Jackson, Wyoming to Denver, which would give you the time and ability to see some other things.

I agree with your thought to include Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. Those are iconic symbols of the U.S.

Wich compagny would rent cars beetwwen this 2 towns ?
My last idea is to take a plane to Boise, then a bus to baker city ; ride to jackson hole and either flight from here (but american airline wil take all my money to take my bike) or rent a car to denver !

What about doing the lewis and clark from portland to missoula and then the transAm to jackson hole? Is this lewis and clark portion great ?
Update : the first part to clarkston seems to have a lot of traffic

Single Entry Visa -

Remember, most U.S. tourist visas are for ONE entry.
Multiple entry visas are more difficult to get and more expensive.
If you fly into Seattle or Spokane and go into Canada -
you will not be allowed to return to the U.S. with a Single Entry Visa.

For people from the E.U. this seems crazy. (And it is - but it is the law.)
The Schengen Zone allows for visa-free travel.
Until 9-11, the U.S.-Canada border was more open.
Not so any more.
