Gear Talk / Re: Waterbottles: alternatives to plastic and frame mounts

Ditto on the feedbags posted by nilejam. Lots of good options available including the very well designed Revelate mentioned above. I like the Jandd and Oveja Negra best as they are less complicated and are available in colors other than black. All of these fit the larger diameter stainless or glass bottles very well, especially the double wall insulated stainless. For the ultimate in decadent pleasures, use a double wall hydro flask for hot coffee, tea or soup in the morning and ice water later in the day.

By far my favorite touring/bike packing/commuting seat bag. This a very versatile rackless bag for all your epic rides that can be easily transferred from bike to bike. Dry bag is removable so you can take it with you (doubles as a pillow!) or replace with mesh bag (for laundry or wet gear) or other bag of similar volume. For commuting, just replace the 8 Litre dry bag with a small disposable shopping/trash bag (I call this specialized trash bag hack the Burra Basura).

Gear Talk / Re: Dynamo - What are you using for a light?
« on: February 04, 2020, 11:56:38 am »
Why a light? Not to be sacrilegious, but why not a USB port and power bank, like the Goal Zero Venture 30 or Guide 10 Plus? I find dynamo powered lights overly complex and expensive, and only useful at night from the bike. A power bank connected to a dynamo would capture energy whenever the wheels are turning and make it usable to charge just about any rechargeable headlamp, tail lamp, helmet light, camp light, navigation equipment, speaker, cell phone, tablet, etc.
