Tifosis are the best value out there. I got Rudy Project for several times the price and the Tifosis were better.

I don't know if there are surface roads leading from the terminals. I can't imagine weaving a loaded bicycle through loading and unloading cars at the terminals.  The highways around JFK would be a death trap by bike. I took the train from the airport, got off in Manhattan, and cycled the last leg home to Northern Manhattan. That was  years ago. Traffic is worse now.

I would not recommend riding it. I would take mass transit to wherever you are going in Manhattan. See https://www.jfkairport.com/to-from-airport/public-transportation

Excellent review by rmball 28 above. I have been using mine for about six weeks only on club rides so far.  My past experience is with a SON dynamo /sinewave revolution for 10 day solo tours and club riding (bike was stolen).  The pedalcell charges better/faster than the dynamo. The slight noise is bothersome a little to me.  Definitely looks clunky, which doesn't bother me.   I still like the feature where I can swap it bike to bike.    Install was easy as pie.  For my use, riding ACA allegheny loop in september, and probably also a weekend bikepacking on my mtn bike in July, I think the pedalcell will be good. Particularly if you have a lot of electronics.  I was real happy with the customer service and the pleasant purchase process.  They are great guys there, and that counts for a lot with me.

In early October, where did you stay on Isle Royale? I see the Rock Harbor Lodge is not open that late in the year.  Are any of  the hike in campgrounds accessible while walking a bike? Thanks.

I believe these two routes together are the most exciting for me:

for approximately 1,000 miles of riding.

What do you think the best time of year to do this is? Late September? Late May?

Routes / Recommendation

2024 will mark the 50th anniversary of my intro to bike touring. If I wanted to celebrate with a 1 month trip in the US, what is "the best" route? If I wanted to celebrate with a 2 month route, what is "the best" route? My priorities are low traffic quiet roads, interesting varied scenery and beautiful mountaintop views. I also like easy logistics, which often means a loop that begins/ends not too far from a transport hub, but it could also be one way.  My own favorite over the years, was a figure 8 1,800 miler from Sacramento to Lassen to the Pacific Coast to Bodega Bay back to Sacramento and then to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, back to Sacramento.   Thank you for your inspirations.

Excellent product.  Not familiar with the 3m stick on part but the regular case on to the bike mount is quality.

Here are excellent video and blog reviews of the product by Joe from 718 cyclery in Brooklyn.

My bicycle, with dynamo hub, was recently stolen.  The capability to move this from bike to bike an outstanding feature that , and Joe makes a great real world case for its increased power output.
I'm just about there, but would love to hear others' thoughts.
