General Discussion / Re: ACA Leadership Training course

Hello Jay,

Arlen here. I took the LTC in 2004. I am currently the Adventure Cycling Tours Director and an LTC adviser. I can give you a two-sided perspective on the LTC; as a participant and adviser. Give me a call at the office 406-721-1776 x221 and I can share my insights with you. I have not taken the NOLS and would appreciate your insights as well.

Happy Trails.

Does anyone know how to contact Charles Hamilton, the cyclist that rode the ballpark tour?

Cycling with children has to be one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever had. I have cycled with both my boys (24, 21) when they were teens; my youngest rode XC with me twice (when he was 13 and 17). I would encourage everyone to ride with children whether or not they are yours.

My experiences have been so enriching, I have been riding with teens since 1998. I now run a non-profit that uses cycling to help kids set and reach goals, teach life skills, promote teamwork and an appreciation of diversity, help others through service projects, and promote environmental awareness.

If I can help anyone with questions about cycling with teens I would love the discussion.

Arlen

Is your teenager looking for an awesome cycling adventure?
Are they looking to help others at the same time?
Do you know a family affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy?

If you answered yes to any of these questions consider "JettRide 2010: The Journey Continues for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy". Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a degenerative muscle disorder that is fatal and affects 1 in 3900 boys born in the USA. Ride for boys who can't. The 2010 JettRide is currently accepting applications for teen riders for this summers tour. Ride from San Francisco to Point Pleasant, NJ OR choose a shorter segment. Raise funds and awareness for DMD. Check them out at www.JettRide.org. Also checkout their award winning documentary, "10thGear JettRide: 3800 Miles to a Cure".
