I've had mine for a month - more than enough light for road riding (like don't let the light shine at on coming drivers or they will be blinded).  Charges up fast and so I am very pleased...best light for the money. The strobe mode is great for the twilight hours too...

 I've mostly used it for night mountain biking, and it works great for that too.

go get one

you could always get a liner for your current bag - it will add a few degrees warmth and keep your bag much cleaner

I was reading on of the metal cowboy books, he he mentions that in national parks that people who come in under their own power (eg hikers and bikers) can camp at campgrounds even if they're full ( like a special reserved section). Is this true, anyone know anything about this? is it only certain parks (he stayed in yellowstone).

Routes / Re: Crooked Road route

I believe parts of the Crooked Road are on some un-bike friendly roads (eg the interstate) - some of the roads look fantastic, but look at a map before you tackle the whole thing.  The Creeper is fun, not sure if i'd ride a loaded touring bike on it from white top to damascus - unloaded would be fine though (i usually ride a cyclocross bike on it)
