Family Riding the Great Divide

Searching for portions of the Great Divide that would suit my family on a 7-10 day adventure this summer (250 mile max). Many self-contained  trips, week or longer, although on rails-to-trials routes, the past 3 summers. Hardy bunch of 4 kids, ages 8-15, plus older accomplished tourist parents, would head out early June while on summer break (teacher's perk!). Looking for scenery, cooler weather (perhaps a ridge), and 2 stops for provisions, while not looking to turn off the kids with long, steep grades. Nurturing folks attempting to raise life-long cyclist.
Thanks for Sharing!

The section through southern Colorado's San Juans and northeast through the Rio Grande have awesome views and are relatively easy trails from New Mexico border north to Silverthorne. I don't know of anything that is not littered with some significant uphills, but taken as a whole this is a liter fare. I have not ridden the sections north of the point between I-70 and Steamboat.  North of Steamboat Springs it is best characterized as rolling hills and mostly paved. Although beautiful not the greatest you've ever seen.
Good Luck

Climb till there is no trail, then keep climbing.

Thanks for the reply. I need as much info about the section as possible, and will order the Adventure Cycling map of that section. If there's anything else concerning the section, or other suggestions, please post. It's crunch time at school so deadlines beg my attention.
