Age range of riders?
Their fitness level?
Their bike experience, e.g., can they change a flat?
Camping, motels, inns?
Sag support or self-contained?
Area of the world?
Time of year?
Duration of tour?

Answer these and you will probably get relevant advice.

I need help with destination.  It's over there --->

I need help with logistics.  That's for sure

I need help? Yep

Andrew, Fred's right give us a clue and IMO you might want to search the forum first on specifics because there isn't too much on here that isn't covered already.

Best help I can offer: Don't do this.
Best recommendation: Find a supported tour going someplace nice that you want to see and have all of your peope sign up.
when you get back, decide if you could possibly organize such an event.

This is much cheaper—and better on everyone concerned—than failing miserably and ending up with a group of angry cyclists..
I play go. I use Macintosh. Of course I ride a recumbent

If Andrew doesn't have a specific tour I do.

Here's a tour I've been thinking of for 2013. Train Vancouver BC to Jasper Alberta, ACA Great Parks route Jasper to Whitefish MT. Then depending on how everybody feels and time constraints (not all of them are retired) either train or NT back to Seattle.

There will be from two to six riders. All will be physically up to this or they can get back on their own. This sounds harsh but I've known them all for decades. I don't want to camp.

Is there anything to be gained from group rates on railways, in hostels etc.?
