Vancouver BC to Seattle Route

Will be biking from Vancouver BC to Seattle around first of June and I have extra time to sightsee. Is it preferable to travel to Vancouver Is. down to Victoria and work my way down thru the islands via the San Juans and into Anacortes. I will take the extra time if the islands route is more scenic than the Adventure Cycling route which follows the coast.

Both routes are quite scenic but the San Juan's are a national treasure. If you can spend a few days (or more) in the Islands I would do it.

Yep, if you have the extra time, do it. If you are going to Vancouver Island you can also check out some of the Gulf Islands, sort of the B.C. equivalent to the San Juans. (Note: This statement isn't meant to be demeaning or anything, just trying to make a comparison.) Salt Spring Island is nice. And riding down Whidbey Island and taking the ferry to Mukilteo is great as well.

Yes, the San Juans! All are pretty, Orcas was my favorite, mostly because I hit a clear day, unloaded the bike, and breezed up Mt. Constitution for an absolutely stunning 360-degree view of the ocean, bays, islands, and snow-capped mountains. Definitely worth a day or three.

Just how much time do you have?  If you go through the San Juans and then head east from Anacortes to Bow-Edison, then Sedro Wooley, you can ride on back roads up the north side of the Skagit River to Concrete, and down the south side to Sedro Wooley (the Sedro Wooley/Concrete loop is about 65 miles and one of our favorite rides in the area) and then to La Conner and from there over back roads to Arlington, Snohomish and into Seattle.  If you want more detailed info, let me know.
