Collapsible water carriers

Has anyone any experience of collapsible water carriers.  I was thinking of using one (around 5 litres) for the convenience of having water to hand when on a camp site (European).  I don't intend carrying water in it on the bike, although if it was suitable it might be considered, but this is not really necessary in Europe. Have read some reviews - some good, some awful.  Bad points seem to be leaky taps and seals, plastic tasting water, hard to inflate.  Not sure I'm going to buy one yet - just thought I'd ask for your experiences/advice and hear any recommendations about particular brands.

I have a MSR Dromedary bag that I like very much. It collapses nicely and is easy to clean (1/2 denture tab) once a week and leave the cover off to air out most other times.

I own an older version of this and have used it for years. It folds up flat so it doesn't take much space or weight. I have the 4 lt. version.

Apparently you want a water carrier for drinking. I have enough drinking water in the three water bottles I carry for drinking and cooking that evening and next morning. For water for sponge bathing and washing clothes I carry a bucket I can fill similar to one below.

the MSR Dromedarys will last longer than the clear Platypus ones. I have a 96oz platypus one that got a hole in one of the folds.   It lasted long and enough that I wasn't concerned or angry but if you do use one, try not to fold it, just compress it flat if you want it to last the longest. The Dromedaries should be more durable in this regard.

Thank you everyone for your replies.  I will be investigating both the Platypus and Dromedary.  They sound as though they are just what I am looking for and it's nice to know that people are satisfied with them.  The bucket looks interesting too.  Thanks again.
