advice: ND E on Northern Tier or ND E on Lewis & Clark

I am considering starting in Bismarck ND and cycling East/South but would like some input about taking the Northern Tier to Dutzow Missouri or the Lewis & Clark to Dutzow. Both routes would start & end at the same points but I was wondering which route most people would consider the most scenic and had the least car traffic. Also I have the option of taking a bike or trike and was wondering about rumble strips on these routes. I would then continue on South on the Underground railroad to the Gulf.
