cycling Germany
« on: May 12, 2012, 11:54:31 pm »
Hi all, I'm planning a 3 week cycle tour in Germany from early Sept. I hope to ride 1000klm+ beginning from Dortmund and would like a balanced route of country and river tracks avoiding large cities. My last trip was 1500klm following the coastal route Emden to Flensburg and Baltic route to Lubeck finishing in Lauenburg. I have to return to Essen but can catch a train. Any ideas?

The German Cycling Federation (ADFC) used to offer an excellent booklet with all major cycle routes by region.   I got a copy free from Sustrans a few years ago, don't know if it's still available but it's an excellent guide.
