New Haven to Albany, suggested routes?

Hey bikers. I'm setting out on a lengthy tour starting June 11th, and I've managed to plot out a good deal of my trip, but I'm having trouble with the first few days. I'm leaving from New Haven and heading to Albany before taking the Erie Canal trail across NY. I'm not sure about the best route from New Haven to Albany, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at CT bicycle map. Route 5 connects New Haven to Canaan in NW CT. From there, head west to reach NY State Bicycle Route 9. That will get you all the north to Albany.
