Brooks B67

I had posted questions about the B17 Standard but have been doing more research and wondering about others thoughts on the B67 and a B67s for my wife's bike.  We are lite tourers with Hybrid bikes and a more upright ride (my wife's bars tend to be higher than saddle since she is only 5'3"). I ride bars just about even with the saddle.  The Brooks and other sites state they are made for road and touring in a more upright position. We are looking for more comfort and the padded gel seats just don't seem to cut it.  Any thoughts?

I think you're over-thinking things - analysis paralysis!  B-17 or B-67?  Pick one, order it from wallbike.com, and try it.  If you like it, you're done.  If not, return it (for a full refund) and try the other one.

I agree with pdlamb. Further, I think the gel seats are the wrong way to go. The body is made to put weight on the sitz bones. Any saddle that helps you do that is doing the right thing. (That includes the Brooks.) Finally, keep in mind that the rider should be active on the bike. Keep some of the weight on your feet. Move around. Get out of the saddle occasionally. Or maybe you really want a recumbent?

Perhaps you are right...my first thought was the B17 and wallbikes return policy is so great it's worth a shot.

I have found the staff at wallbike.com to be really good.  You might ask for their take as to which saddle is right for you.

Why not go for the middle ground? the brooks flyer; it's the suspended version of the B17. I have it and I love it.

I own both the B17 and the Flyer. Both saddles are the same except that the Flyer has springs.

I rode across America on the aged version of the B17 and was happy. However it would be nice to have a bit more cushioning. Thus I was looking for a spring saddle.

Before buying the Flyer I was told (in a forum) that the springs would be rock hard. Very much unlike the springs on the B66, which should be softer. I chose the Flyer and not the B66 because it looked too wide for me.

Now, I have to say that the springs are truly rock hard. I weigh 155 pounds and hardly feel any suspension - it feels almost like the B17.

Thanks Lucas.  I am waiting for a reply from Wallbike and am leaning toward B17 for me and the B17s for my wife.  I figure with their return policy we can't go wrong.
