Sierra Cascades to the Great Parks

This summer I plan on biking the long route from Oregon to Sheridan, Wyoming. My plan is to northbound the Sierra/Cascade route and southbound Great Parks route to WY. I’ll either follow the S/C route to Sumas or cross the border along Highway 97 at Osoyoos, B.C. Regardless, the route planning crux is connecting the two ACA routes as well as ironing out the leg of the journey from Grand Teton NP to Sheridan WY. I’m kicking this ride off in late June/early July, but need to be at a wedding in Sheridan over Labor Day weekend (approx. Sept 6th). For a heads up, I’ll be camping throughout the trip. Any recommendations or sound advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Is entering Canada a requirement for your trip? If not, you might consider the Northern Tier route between Twisp and Whitefish to connect the Sierra Cascades and Great Parks North route. You could still loop up to Canada from there to catch both Glacier Parks before heading to Wyoming.

Thanks for your suggestion; it’s definitely some food for thought. But, to answer your question, I,m feeling that entering Canada is a must for me. The northern portions of the Great Parks North route are a big motivator for this tour. I would highly regret missing out on 4 premier NPs, Mt. Robson and the Icefields Parkway. I got the open schedule so, I might as well optimize my time!
