Thorn Nomad touring bike

Ride around the world or just down to the local store; either way this is the best possible option for getting there.

Due to the arrival of a baby, I am putting this bike up for sale so it gets ridden the way its meant and to reduce the quiver to fit the stroller.

This bike has ridden around the UK after riding it out of the Thorn storeroom. The frame was one of the last hand made in the UK instead of OS as they now are, so you can be assured of some fantastic welds and love and care.

There are a few smaller cosmetic scratches, as would be expected. 

The Rohloff hub, indeed the bike, was only picked up on the 9th April, after receiving a full blown service by North America's only Rohloff speed hub service partner - CycleMonkey.com - (if you get the best get the best to service it) so it is cruising like a dream!!

The bike will accept disc breaks if you choose to install them.

The bike is currently in the US (San Francisco) but can be shipped anywhere.

For anyone remotely interested in buying the Thorn, let me put in my two cents worth.  The frame was built by Kevin Sayles a master craftsman and I have one of the first Rolhoff hubbed bikes built by him at his new employers Woodrup Cyles in Leeds.  The geometry is much the same as a Thorn and the quality of the ride offered by the bike is superior to any of the preceding three touring bikes that I have owned. 

Anyone buying the Thorn will be rewarded with trouble free, low maintenance cycling for many years to come.  The Rohloff hub requires just an annual oil change which is a simple ten minute job.  All I have had to do in the past eighteen months of ownership is to change the hub oil and replace the brake pads once. No-one will regret its purchase apart from the vendor.

I too have the exact model you have except I have a dyno front hub.  I have had no issues at all.  You might consider selling on CrazyGuyonaBike.com as there are a lot of adventure cyclotourist on there, probably more than here.  Its free too.

I just wish you had sold yours about a year ago when I paid almost $1,000 more.  You price is very nice.  Best wishes, John
