I'll be starting my next stage of the Pacific Coast route in Astoria, OR. Any bike-friendly hotel recommendations?

I stayed at an independent one in town and it sucked!  It had no internet, no discount, and a drab room.  I am not sure of the name, but it was on the left and in town.  I should have ridden a bit farther as there were nicer places.

I stayed in a small, basic motel toward the end of town, not far from the bridge entrance.  They were one after the other there.  I picked the one I did because it was early in the day and I could get into a room there.  Others I tried, I would have had to wait.

I was allowed to bring my bike into my room.

Brian,  We started in Astoria last July.  We stayed at the Astoria Dune, which was going through some kind of remodel to correct various things.  We did roll our bikes into the Room, and they had a free breakfast.  We could not get internet from our wing.

You will see bright, sunny pictures of Astoria.  Just remember, it is at the mouth of the Columbia River.  In early July, it was dank and overcast.  I think the economy has seen better days (like most of the country).  We couldn't wait to get out of Astoria.

In 2010, I stayed in a hostel bunk at the Norblad Hotel for $20.
