New bike questions
« on: May 24, 2013, 01:02:14 pm »
Hello, I'm new to the site but I think this is the best place to get a couple questions answered. I recently picked up an 88 Miyata 1000LT and was wondering if there is much difference in the later LTs compared to the regular 1000 or a GT. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the family.
You might try Miyata-focused collectors or Miyata-specific dealers. Subtle differences between models of bikes? There are thousands. I don't know the differences between the various models of my bike. The bike I've got is the bike I ride and that's eth bike I care about. Everyone else? They're on their own.
I play go. I use Macintosh. Of course I ride a recumbent

There are also vintage bike groups on several different bike forums.  Just use Google and a few specific words and you will find the group to  join and question.

Thanks for responding. I looked around for Miyata dedicated websites before I came here and I couldn't find any that have had any kind of recent activity. I'll keep searching though.

Are we talking "subjective" or "objective" differences? Feel vs numbers? If it's the latter you should check out a site that has Miyata catalogs and then check out the specs for each year. Here is one:
