First Touring Specific Bike
« on: July 30, 2013, 05:29:27 pm »
First post on the forums, and I would like to share this KHS TR-101 bike that I ordered recently.  The bike I was expecting was the black 2013 model from the KHS website.  What I received is a dark metallic blue one with a different decal scheme and component build.  I assume this is some kind of 2014 or unreleased bike.  The bike rides nicely, but the handlebars have a much shallower drop section and the saddle is like a pillow wrapped in naugahyde.  At any rate going to take a quick trip up to Kettle Moraine North in WI this weekend to give it a light load test run.

Don't be surprised if this turns out to be less than a great feature.  There is a reason most good bike saddles are narrower and less padded.

Thanks for the kind words!  The Customer Service Rep. at KHS replied to my E-Mail today which sort of cleared up the the actual model.

to me
Hello Mike,
Thanks for the e-mail.
It is definitely a KHS TR101. We just received this model in the new blue color.
We built one here that was going to be used for 2014 catalog and now it is at the photographer.
I do not have the specifications at this time.
Enjoy the bike! You may be the first customer to get this color.

Thank you,
Allen
