Building a dishless wheel with the Shimano FH-M755 hub.

I always wanted to try this after obtaining a used Shimano FH-M755 hub I removed the 9 cog freewheel and replaced it with a 7 cog freewheel and built a dishless wheel in 135mm over lock nut. http://www.flickr.com/photos/63373992@N07/9826891854/ A compact drive freewheel would not allow the smallest cog to catch so I had to use an older model threaded one. The hub was extensively sanded down to remove an internal stress riser that would give rise to this http://www.flickr.com/photos/65657096@N00/7014908657/ Still I don't trust the hub and it will be replaced after about 5000 miles.  I don't recommend you try this with any of the Shimano undercut hubs if you must get the silver ones. The black coating is brittle. After 90000 miles with 165 to 190 pounds on the rear none of my wheels has ever broken a spoke. The best hub Shimano now makes is the FH-M529 which has the steel splines that transfer the torque from the cassette to the body.
