SOLD: 2002 Trek 520

2002 Trek 520 Touring Bike.

Handmade in Wisconsin.

23" Frame size (center of BB to top of seat tube). Really good shape. New Michelin City rear tire. Plenty of life left in front. Park Tools chain checker reads 0.5. Maybe 15% left on brake pads. A few cosmetic blemishes.

Used for a few short fully loaded tours (RAGBRAI 2002 being the longest) but primarily as a commuter and grocery getter.

Don't really want to bother with breaking down and shipping. Hoping for a local buyer or a “West to East'er” looking to pick up a bike in Bellingham, WA at the start of their ride this spring.

I rode this same make/model (but a year older) on a fully loaded cross country tour in 2001. My buddies, with less expensive brand bikes, had numerous break-downs of every variety. I had a single puncture flat from a paper clip of all things.

I think $750 is a good price.

I'm interested in more detail about your bike. You mentioned "shorter rides" and was wondering if yu could estimate miles on the components. Also, what brand are the racks?

I'd appreciate more pics if possible and if I'm not mistaken, the 23" equates to a 58cm in current sizing. Is that right?

I'm guessing it's' got maybe 1500 miles total.

The actual measurement from the center of BB to top of seat tube is 22.8-something inches which is 58 cm.
