Great Divide
« on: May 21, 2014, 05:20:15 pm »
I just finished the Southern Tier, 38 days on a Giant Seek using 700-32 Gatorskins. Now we are thinking about doing the Great Divide next summer. Can I use the same bike but put a wider tire on the same wheels? If not any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Buck.

If you bypass some of the sketchier bits you'll be OK.  Some have made it on an LHT.  A mountain bike would be preferable, however.

A bonus for missing the sketchier bits would be that you can use the same tires.  It's mostly gravel roads.  Some single track in Montana and deep sand in New Mexico.
