Pacific Coast Section 4, Map 43 CAMPGROUND CLOSURE UNTIL 4/2105
« on: December 07, 2014, 02:46:02 am »
The campground at Half Moon Bay State Park is closed until approximately April 2015.
Tent camping is available in an ugly gravel parking lot at 460 Wavecrest for $45. (!!!)
Hotels in the area were $130-160 when I was there (early December 2014).
You will probably want to plan ahead to avoid sleeping in this area until the park re-opens.

That is really too bad.  It was a refuge for my partner and me after a long and harried day getting through the SF area.  Is there any known reason for this closure.  It is unfortunate that an effort has not been mad  to provide a substitute affordable situation for those choosing to travel is a healthy and ecological way.

May the wind be at your back!
