A bit heavy, yes. But we HAVE ridden over just about everything with no flats or other troubles!

That is the trade off I guess.  Me, I'd rather fix a flat once in a while than ride with tires that stiff and heavy.  Between the weight and the stiff sidewalls I couldn't stand the Pluses.  I found they sucked a good bit of the joy out of riding.  I took them off after a couple hundred miles, but if for you, flat resistance and long wear trump light weight and a lively ride I guess they are just the ticket.

Again, this is for my cargo bike/kid hauler, where protection is priority #1.  On my long-distance bike, I'm running Grand Bois Hetre's, which is basically on the other side of the spectrum with zero flat protection!

Just FYI for those looking for 26" x 2" Mondials you should be able to pick them up from BikeStar in Germany for really good prices, even factoring in shipping. They use DHL which are fantastic in my experience.

As an aside, Schwable NA just warrantied some Marathon tires for me. I was very impressed with their customer service and response time. Nice to see a company that stands behind their products!
