Using a surf board as a bike trailer

Hello

I am considering taking a bicycle trip and want to make it a combo with surfing and backpacking. I saw a person that had a setup where their surf board was setup so with wheels where at one end and the other end of the board attached to the bike. This looks like a great way to combine my love bicycling, backpacking and standup paddle boarding. It would be great to get some advice/opinions of anyone that has used a surfboard trailer system. 

If someone has this setup already setup it would be great to come and check it out. I want to see how it feels to ride with a surf board trailer. I am currently in Los Angeles but would be willing to travel a way to look at a good setup.

Back in the early 70's as a kid I did the similar with a Snark sailboat.  I built a "trailer" platform from two 20 in. bike wheels for the stern of the boat.  I attached with ropes, before the days of velcro straps.  At the bow I create a hitch from Dad's leftover pvc sprinkler pipe, attached to the seatpost.  The boat was 11ft long, so the rig was a sight on the road.  I used the boat to carry the cooler, bag lunch and fishing poles.
