Solo Divider looking to team up for the start
« on: April 25, 2015, 07:36:14 pm »
I'm leaving from Banff in the third week of June.  Anyone heading out on the Divide then?  Would be interested in teaming up until we get through Grizzly country...  44, male fatbiker.

I've set my depart date at either June 21st or 22nd, so if anyone is interested in riding together that would be great.  I'm in 30-40 mile shape so easing into the start. Let me know.

June 21st in Banff, is too early for me.  On June 6th I'm getting dropped off around 250 miles east of Glacier National Park on the Northern Tier Route.  Hopefully the Going to Sun Road will open as predicted on June 19.  I could meet you heading South, but then I can't say I did the whole trail. :'(

I'm planning on starting around July 1st from Banff, but I'm flexible.  Planning on doing the whole trail sticking to the book. Currently I'm not in the 30-40 mile range, but hope to be by then.  Would be great to find another person or group to ride a section or even the whole trail with.

Going to use my Moonlander fatbike.  Last year I did a 500 mile tour around Minnesota with the Moonlander and had a good time, and then another tour of 300 in the Netherlands on a rented bike.

I'm open to anyone who wants to meet me anywhere on the trail if you need a companion for a section.  I'll be traveling with a Delorme inReach satellite tracker and can share a map link once I get going.  Just send a message to me on this forum.

Hi all,

New to this forum and also doing the great divide starting mid July as a continuation of an extensive trip in South America. We are going to be touring on low-medium weight setups, can do relatively long days and would not mind some company at least for the start. We´ve got plenty of experience touring dirt roads, but none in bear country.

Our route starts in Vancouver around Mid June, taking some detours to Banff along the way.

Hopefully see some of you on the (dirt) roads!
