Great Divid Route, Map 1 B - road closure - July 15 2015

On FR 477 between Little Shanley Creek and Black Canyon the road will be closed due to construction from July 15 to around Sept. 1. Please check with the USFS ranger office in Seeley Lake to confirm when construction is complete. Here is a detour around it. It's not known if these roads are signed. You can see them on the forest service map but they aren't shown on the Great Divide map.
9.1(14.6)Bear right onto Cottonwood Lakes Rd./FR 9976.
9.3(14.9)Road forks, stay to the left.
12.4(19.9)Turn left onto Woodworth Rd./CR 67.
14.8(23.8)Bend right.
20.0(32)Continue straight onto Upsata Lake Rd. Woodworth Rd. goes right.
20.9(33.6)Pass Upsata Lake fishing access.
22.2(35.7)At "T", turn right.
23.1(37.1)Turn left onto SR 200.
26.5(42.6)Turn right toward Ovando. Rejoin route.

We passed thru here a couple of days ago.  This closure was not in effect yet so we got thru, but there is another closure south of Ovando on Huckleberry Pass. The road is signed as closed but it IS open to cyclists.  We spoke to one of the road crew guys and he said they will help cyclists across the construction zone if needed.

I passed by the northern part of this today; the sign was up showing the closure as of today. I'll be heading that part of the route tomorrow, and will post asap about what I see.

I'm starting from banff tomorrow, I was wondering about that reroute. I'm looking forward to hear your report on it!

The road was open today, but a worker who was there told me they'd close it starting Monday. Southbound riders have no problem, because the ACA detour starts right at the closure. Northbound riders beware- you don't want to go 18 miles to discover your route is blocked and you have to go all the way back to Ovando.
