Go to your local bike shop and find a couple pairs that fit you.

Last year I wore out several pairs, and at least a couple of makers had shifted production to apparent child labor hotspots where the sizing was way off.  Gloves labeled XL were more like M or L, despite pulling out my wife's sewing tape measure and checking both hands before I ordered.

After several online disasters I now hit any shop that has gloves and try them on.

My last pair has lasted 2 years, Pearl Izumi, and my wife still loves hers from PI so I'll be trying them again if their quality remains good :)

I buy a lot of stuff on the internet. The last time I bought gloves on the internet, I didn't get what I ordered. +1 for buying from a local shop. +1 for PI (for now, anyway).
