Cycling the Trans Canada Trail - trail condition?

A friend and I are planning on biking the Trans-Canada Trail (TCT) from Banff to Quebec this August! According to the Trans-Canada Trail website the trail is only 80% complete, we were wondering if anyone has recently cycled along any parts of the trail through Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario and can give us an idea of the condition of the trail. i.e are some parts only appropriate for mountain bikes or will we be fine on hybrid or touring bikes?

Any other tips or advice would be really appreciated
