Montana Wildfire affecting ACA routes.

A wildfire has closed US 2 near Essex on the south end of Glacier National Park, only reasonable close detour is Glacier NP Going to the Sun Road.  Wildfire is also making travel difficult on MT 56 north of Noxon.  See the Montana DOT web site for the most up to date road closures.

Yeah. A friend of mine is currently on Cycle Idaho or something like that. TA few days ago they stayed in Noxon and were supposed to ride MT 56 to Troy but that part of the route was scrubbed. They went straight to Sandpoint instead.

US 2 was reopened over the weekend but traffic is being guided by pilot car through the burn area near Essex. The fire is still active as of Aug 24.
