Recommended bike shops

So here is my question. I'm in the merchant Marine and spend four weeks at sea and then have four weeks off. I'm looking to tour around the country but will be looking to store my bike at various locations while at sea. Is this something bike shops would be willing to do? Has anyone else done this?

I've shipped a bike to a shop a month early for a tour and that didn't create any heartburn.  I can't imagine that you couldn't find a shop to do this for a month.  Maybe have some trivial service done while it's there?  I'm betting it's not uncommon for a bike to languish a month before being picked up after service.
