Great Parks South Sec. #1

Has anyone traveled the Great Parks South Section #1?  Specifically through the towns of Black Hawk, Central City, Idaho Springs, Dillon and Frisco? After reading through the map directions a few times it seems that it might be easy to get a bit lost. If anyone has any recent experience with these town that would be helpful, if only to plan in a little extra time for getting lost.  Thanks

While I have not ridden through Black Hawk/Central City, I have ridden through Dillon & Frisco (and lots of other places).  Even though the directions sound hard at times, it typically is easy to do once you are onsite.  Additionally, I have found it helps immensely by looking at a Google street view map in advance so I can visualize what they are saying.

I rode this area last summer. Central City was confusing since the route I selected was closed to bicycle traffic which forced me off the roads I intended to use. Took me some time to figure it out. Central City seemed to be one big casino.  The rest of the area you intend to ride should cause you no problems.

If I remember correct, the prohibition was recently lifted after a court battle.  Perhaps others can help answer if bikers are prohibited any long.

I found this http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22515210/colo-court-rules-bicycles-state-interest dated 2013 but the signs are still up as of June 2015 so not sure if one would encounter problems riding through Central City or not.
Because of signs I may have been a bit paranoid but I was watched by police all the time I sat outside a rather posh casino drinking coffee and using the WiFi. There were no friendly vibes in this town.

This is the first I've heard on this topic for a long time. It's disappointing the signs are still up, it would not seem to be legal based on the ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court. I blogged on the whole story beginning in 2010. The sum up is here including a link to the final ruling:

Black Hawk and Central City are small places. Even if you get off track, you can't get too far lost. There's really only one way in and one way out. You'll figure it out. And despite the signs, nobody will hassle you. Yes, the streets are not very bicycle friendly, but you won't be there long.

And yes, the route through Silverthorne/Dillon/Frisco is confusing. You may very well get lost. But getting lost is okay. It's all part of the adventure.
