Source for USBR GPS Data?
« on: July 26, 2016, 03:49:31 pm »
Hello,

Does anyone know where to find GPS data for routes in the USBR system? turn-by-turn would be sufficient and POIs for services would be great!

Thanks,

Steve

I'm not aware of GPS data being available for the entire USBRS. Some states might provide data for their route at their own sites. The USBRS is also included in the Open Street Map project. More information about that is available here:

Thanks for the response. I am aware that the route data is incorporated into OSM.

My current issue is to try to plan tours in rural areas I need something that locates the route and nearby services. OSM has the routes but poor if any services. Google maps has pretty good services but no routes. I was hoping to put the GPS route on top of Google Maps to see everything in one place.

Thanks,

Steve

The OpenStreetMap wiki page has links to download a .gpx file for each route, but I have not had any luck with actually getting a valid file to download.
