I see in the ACA explanation about using the digital map downloads that the app 'Locus Pro' is the only one named to use. But, at the Google Play Store I see that it has a number of ratings under 5, and it costs $8.49.

I am curious to know if other apps will do the job, and if so, which ones.

Also, I often use Ride with GPS. Can ACA maps can be opened with that app on an Android phone?

Thanks,
Mark

There is a free version of Locus as well that you can try out and then decided if you are interested enough to invest in the paid version.

I think some people also use Maps.me

I'm sure that there are many others that will work with the data as well. I have not tried using the Ride with GPS app to open the Adventure Cycling Digital Data, but it won't hurt anything to try and see if it works.

My guess is that RWG requires the route be in your library of routes. Please post an update how it works for you or if you find other apps.

I use Locus Pro, works great though I use it in addition to my Garmin as my phablet phone uses too much power to use as a dedicated nav device while touring. As I'm usually mtb'ing, also worried about the phone if I crash!

Used it to alert for waypoints/POI nearby like water sources and such and to edit/create new gpx tracks for my Garmin. It's waypoint/POI management much easier than Garmin's and the alert distances are much more flexible
