E-bikes in bike lanes: ok or invasive species?

Here in NYC, bike lanes are often multi-purpose, including speedways for E-bike delivery folk or just lazy riders.  I love the uphill bridge crossers pedaling at 5 rpm, but going 25 mph!  Anyway, my feeling is that if it has a throttle, it should not be in a bike lane.  What's the view from the "real world?"

Doesn't bother me. But I'm sure that logical intelligence must remain that faster bikes on the left and slower on right. Driving my hybrid bike daily it's quite annoying problem not to go faster if I want

Guess I am not too up to date on E bikes.  I assumed their top speed was 20-25 mph.  High but normal pedal bike speeds.  They were not mopeds.  But the E bikes you see are essentially mopeds going 30+ mph?  Mopeds and bikes should not be sharing a bike lane.  I don't like to share the bike trails with walkers and dog walkers when I am on my bike.

In Europe, where e-bikes are much more common, they are allowed on bike paths/routes as far as I have seen.

Yes, my cousin in Holland now has one, but there the riding skills are higher.  In my dense urban habitat there is possibly more competition for space.

Many are indeed what I think of as a moped, but electric.

An e-bike is a bike with a motor. Also called a Motorbike. Motorbikes should.stay away from bike paths. Dangerous things to share a bike path with particularly in the bike-share towns where an e-bike is typically ridden by inexperienced kids or drunken tourists. As a cyclist I put e-bikes right up there with RVs....
