La Route Verte- Quebec
« on: May 04, 2017, 09:29:09 pm »
Hello all cyclonauts,

My wife and I are planning to do a two-week tour (I finally convinced her!). The plan is to start in Quebec City and head east to Riviere-du-Loup, then north to Saguenay, etc., etc.

We got a copy of Cycling Quebec and have done some online research but haven't figure out when would be the best time to actually do the tour. We are thinking of two weeks, with a lot of time to enjoy the scenery. My wife wants to go the last week of July and first week of August. I would prefer to go the last two weeks of August.

She is worried about the cold. I'm worried about the rain...  ;)

So I was hoping that some of you that have cycle La Route Verte could help choose the best time and share some of your experiences.

Thank you! And happy ridding!

July and August will be quite similar weatherwise. One thing that might influence your decision is the Quebec construction holiday which falls on July 23 to August 6 this year. It's when the construction industry officially goes on vacation, filling up a lot of the accommodations and campgrounds throughout the province.
