I'm hoping to do the Great Divide in 2 years time. I have a full suss Giant Anthem which I love and has been largely trouble free. I recently bought a 2nd hand BOB Ibex trailer- the one with the suspension with a view to using it on this long distance ride. I tried it in Scotland last week on off road tracks. It went fine but it seems puts a lot of lateral pressure on the rear wheel and rear suspension bearings. Would it last for 2700 plus mile of tracks?! I would need a different bike if I'm going to use panniers. Can anyone help? Thanks Chris from the UK

Surely bikepacking bags would be the best option for that bike.

There are no mounts for panniers and full suss so rather limited for bike bags. Or do you have a web site you can recommend? Thanks Chris

Chris - look at the bikepacking bags (not panniers).  Revelate Designs, Porcelain Rocket and J-Packs are three small companies that make them.  You'd likely need custom for the frame bag, but seatbag and handlebar roll would handle a good portion of your gear.

bikepackersmagazine.com and pedalingnowhere.com are also two sources that will help you understand what RonK is suggesting (and I agree).  Much lighter and easier to handle than the Bob Trailer.
