Map segments on more than one device
« on: May 19, 2017, 11:32:38 am »
How does one get maps purchased for the new Apps to show on more than one device?-for example, I would like to have the maps on my iPad for planning, and on my iPhone when riding the route.

If both devices are using the same iTunes account, when you go to purchase the data on the additional device it should recognize that you already own the route section and not charge. If you are not experiencing that let us know.

That's exactly what's happening. In fact, a couple of segments previously showing on my iPad dropped off.  I just purchased a Pacific Coast section the other day on my iPhone and it won't show up on my iPad.  The Restore purchase function doesn't appear to have any effect.

I'm checking in with the developer on this issue and will reply when I have more information.

If a map section you have already purchased is missing from a device using the same iTunes account you can retrieve it by repurchasing the map. You should not be charged. Here are the steps:

You will be shown the $4.99 price and after you agree, you will be told it's free and it will download (that order is weird, but that's how the AppStore works). If you get charged for the 2nd download let us know and we can refund that 2nd purchase if you shows us the 2 confirmation emails.

We are looking into the "Restore Purchase" and should have it sorted out in the next update.

I bought a new android phone and was charged to reinstall the maps.  I did not see a restore purchase option.  I have the Samsung 8+.

Is the new device using the same Google Play account that the previous device was using?

Aah.  I also have a new email address and even thought the app transferred with the purchase it didn't include the maps.  I used the new email address so it didn't recognize that I had already purchased the map.  I finally figured out how to put in the old address and I was able to retrieve the maps I paid for previously.  Thanks.

Glad you got it working and thanks for letting me know everything is now OK!
