North Lakes Section 2, Escanaba - Summer 2017

We recently received a notice from a Michigan DOT Bicycle and Pedestrian coordinator regarding a bridge construction project on US 2, in the Upper Peninsula just north of Escanaba. This is a two-year project but they expect to have enough work done for the 2018 riding season such that this will not be an issue at that time.

While cyclists may ride through the construction, MDOT is urging them to ride their suggested detour instead due to the dramatically reduced useable space through the construction. The detour is outlined on their press release:
