All-
I wanted post an update and say thanks for all the input that I received on this ride.  I started from San Luis Obispo, California on May 19 and finished the right on schedule in Wilmington, NC on June 15.  3600 miles of riding with about 118,000 ft of elevation change could not have gone much better.  I gained a healthy appreciation to doubt any data based on Google Maps, but the worst I ran into was a few miles of gravel roads in several states, and a couple of dead end roads, but wasted time and a little pushing my bike was all that resulted.

Most importantly, Tour de SRAM USA 2017 has raised over $16,000 (with donations still being received), which will send 111 bikes to those in need in Africa.  TDSU17 was an adventure of a lifetime, and I’m starting a blog to share some of the stories (covering ~130 miles per day solo didn’t allow time for anything more than daily Strava and Facebook posts during the ride).

Thanks again for the input and suggestions that helped make this ride a success!
