as of noon tomorrow all the crown lands south of elk pass to the border and west to well west of cranbrook are closed to the public- defined highways are not closed , This probably closes the area around elk pass and the entire main route south of highway 3. One could use highwood pass and go south to highway 3 and then head west into bc picking up the old route west of elko, or given all the fire impacted lands south of there in mt perhaps the optimum route might be down the east side hitting watertown and the east side of glacier then on down to Helena

Yikes!  Big impacts of fires this year. I've been looking at property in the flathead to nice back home. This year has me considering in town more than in the surrounding woods.

i guess town and woods both ave their advantages, i live in the woods and its a bit scary but i love the quiet and solitude.

Where have you been looking?

Whitefish for sure (until I can buy parents house on the river in CG). New lots in Whitefish Hills Village, found a few in Haskell Basin, 1 just up the Mtn road. Not much in town unless I look at a complete remodel. Condos on the mountain, but I know I'd tire of that quickly

CG?
Reservoir rd area is nice, good trail access, convenient to town, the new trailhead is being built about a quarter mile up the rd.It looks like the cedar flats area will end up with some good trails down the road. Too, farm to market area has pig farm and some good paved road riding

Meant C.F. - I'm watching the new trails being built with great interest. That is one of my drivers on location. Would love to start rides from the house again.

have you been able to follow the plans on the remaining whitefish trail segments? Too, there are a ton of proposed trails up for approval along the whitefish face region which is the front and back side of the range from c falls over to werner pk.
