Great Rivers South Sec.1, map 7 Detour Sept. 2017

On SR 79 1/2-mile south of Louisiana, the highway is closed due to construction on two bridges. The posted detour by Missouri DOT is about 24 miles. The highway is closed until November 2017.

The cyclists who notified us detoured via US 54 to Bowling Green, then US 61 to Troy. Elevation on their detour was almost flat due to the way US highways are graded. Both highways have wide, paved shoulders so they felt safe on these roads.
