There's 36 states that recognize Florida's conceal permits. California is not one of them. Each state varies it's laws a little. Some require you to be a Florida resident. Others say which type of weapons you may carry.

Florida’s reciprocity states include: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

I wonder how the drivers of large trucks bypass these rules? I know that almost all of them have a shotgun or pistol in the cockpit.
God created the universe, and man created the wheel.

God invented our legs for us, we came up with pedals for our feet.

So the bike was born.

Trucking is regulated federally. The FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) has no regulations concerning firearms transported for personal protection.

Aha. But can we, cyclists, also have the right to carry a legal weapon in our luggage?

I was thinking only in terms of the Southern Tier for reciprocity. I had no idea Florida's concealed permit was recognized in 36 States. I qualify for a concealed permit but I have no intention of carrying a weapon. I simply haven't ever needed one.

Me too.

But I asked if we can, carry weapons legally. This is a theoretical question.

No. Bicycling isn’t federally mandated. In all of my tours I haven’t met a single person who was carrying a weapon. If you’re that concerned carry bear spray or a similar mace.

If a person has a permit to carry a concealed weapon I cannot imagine that being on a bicycle would restrict or void that right or privilege. That is a legal question. I would call the various State agencies or contact a lawyer just to make sure.

My point was that truckers are exempt because of FMCSA regulations. Bicyclist aren’t exempt. The FMCSA doesn’t include bicyclist in their regulations. His question was regarding how truckers can do it and not bicyclist. The FMCSA is how:)

I’d recommend a website like City Data or Legal Forums though for further information.

I do not know exactly why and I never gave it any thought. That has never been an issue with me or anyone that I know. My impression is that he's considering a long-distance bicycling trip and is thinking about carrying a firearm with him for protection.

Еxactly  right.

Since, most of my life I lived in a socialist country where my human and citizen rights were infringed, I very much care for the 2 amendments to the US Constitution.

I am very disgusted that some states and some cities have introduced illegal acts on the possession of weapons.

The clothes of a bicyclist.

Usually, I ride in synthetic clothes and change clothes for the night in cotton or fleece.

I'm interested in what you do, people who have more experience than I in distant cycling.

You are in the right place on the right Forum looking for information about long-distance bicycle touring. I know about the touring and camping aspects of it. My technical knowledge about mechanics and Goering and the different types of bicycles is a little bit short because I didn't bother to find out that much about that. There are people on this forum who seem to have an intricate knowledge of the mechanics and of the cycling and camping.

I don’t carry anything cotton or fleece, but I’m more weight-sensitive than you are.

What is Goering?

My translator wrote for me the name of the Hitlerite minister. ;D

I take all your advice with great attention and gratitude.

This trip should be a new stage in my life.
