In Idaho, more than 50 miles of road repaving and two bridge replacements will occur between April and October 2018 along the Lochsa River corridor/US 12 on TransAmerica Section 3. There will be significant delays. Adventure Cycling is still talking to the Idaho Transportation Department about options to help cyclists traverse the roadway. For more information see: http://itd.idaho.gov/us12

We will post more information when we have it.

This will affect/effect (never get it right) parts of the Lewis & Clark also, correct?

I expect to be pedalling through the construction zone in another day or two, heading East. Any update about this section being passable by bike?

I checked the Idaho Dept. trans link, and it looks like the two bridges are open to one-way traffic with signal.
The repaving starts in June, so looks like you might miss that!

An update from ITD regarding a coming full closure on US 12:

Quote
An oversize load left the roadway Thursday night at milepost 114 just west of Fish Creek Bridge.

There are no extra delays or restrictions through the corridor right now, but in the coming days a full closure will be announced to allow crews to remove the load. At this time the date and the duration of the full closure is unknown but is expected within the next week.

ITD will post updates via 511, signage, the corridor newsletter and this website.

We advise you check the Idaho 511 and/or US 12 Construction project page for the most current information regarding this closure.
