Crossing at Niagara Falls

I'm currently in Lockport New York and will be crossing into Ontario tomorrow.  I had planned to cross at Rainbow Bridge, but it looks like the Lewiston Queenston Bridge maybe a better, more bike-friendly option.  Any thoughts? The weather forecast is for light rain for the next few days. I don't know if that is a factor into which bridge is better to use.

Either bridge is ok, take the one that puts you in the desired place.

If you take the Rainbow, approach from the north on the trail along the river.  Traffic will often back up onto the bridge from Canada Customs.  Cyclists usually just go to the front of the line; the authorities don't care.  On the L-Q, you're expected to queue upwith he cars.  That's not bad if the lines are short.

I couldn't figure out what I was expected to do on the L-Q, so I went to the front of the line. The authorities didn't care, and if the cars were cursing at me, I couldn't hear them.

Crossing at the Lewiston Queenston Bridge was a non-issue. At 10:30 in the morning, there was a little traffic. Although you have to share one of the two lanes of traffic, the drivers were respectful. When approaching the Customs booths, the very far right is for truckers only. I shared the lanes with the car traffic and had no problems proceeding through customs. After paying the $1 toll, the toll collector was familiar with how to get bicycles over to the recreation path.

The toll taker we had (2005) looked like the school bus driver on The Simpsons.  I asked, "Any toll for the bike?"  He answered, "I gotta get 50 cents from you, man."  I guess the price has gone up...

Yes, the toll collector mentioned that the fare had recently gone up.
