Mass to Maine route?

Does anyone have a nice Massachusetts to Maine route? We're leaving next week and are looking to ride up to Brunswick, ME area. We'll be staying in hotel/motels on the way there. We are hoping, for the most part, to stay off of super busy/no shoulder roads so guessing Route 1 is out. Thanks for your help/advice!

Have you looked at Section 1 of the Atlantic Coast route?

Thank you Jennifer. I purchased the Bicycle Route Navigator In app Section 1 Atlantic Coast Route but I can't see where it tells me what roads the route takes. Is there someone that I can talk with to get some help? Thank you!

The Bicycle Route Navigator app does not include the narratives found on the maps or turn by turn queues. It is a gpx line representing the route. You navigate by following the line. If you zoom in closely in the app, road names should appear.

If you need more information and would like to talk to someone, please call the main line at 800-755-2453 and let them know you have an app question. You will be transferred to the Routes & Mapping department.

Does anyone have a nice Massachusetts to Maine route?

Where from Boston are you leaving?

I have enjoyed this route twice with my young boys through many beaches, bakeries, & lighthouses:

• First trip mostly followed the East Coast Greenway. Route stayed near the water until Wells, ME, then switched to rail trail to Portland, ME.
• Coastal route version of the first trip with more dips in water, more lighthouses, & more bakeries. After Wells, ME, we continued along the coast on many quiet roads.

My recommendation is for the second option. Trip reports for both trips include itinerary, route map, lodging, & bakery stops.

I have not been on the portion from Portland to Brunswick. I expect that you can continue on ECG.
