Knee surgery
« on: December 30, 2018, 11:04:29 pm »
I am having full replacement knee surgery on my right knee. My question is, has anyone out there had full knee replacement and returned to riding their bike and able to tour again.

Been there, done that. Read the mentioned threads.  I can tell you personally that you'll probably be very pleased with how strong your knee is afterward. but it takes time and work. Do the PA!  Of course, everyone is different, but you should be fine. Just be prepared for the first two weeks right after the surgery. They aren't pleasant but once you get that behind you, you'll be amazed at the progress you make. I see no reason you won't be able to tour again.

Best of luck.

You're more than welcome.  I can bicycle, hike and ski on my knee now like it's new (guess it is new).  Best $43,000 I ever spent. My only regret is that I didn't have them both done at the time.  My other "good" knee is now starting to give me problems.   I'm not looking forward to having it replaced but it will be what it will be, I suppose.
