http://smithislandcruises.com/

It hasn't run from Point Lookout the past two summers because of channel silting.
It looks like the channel MAY have been dredged because they are posting for summer 2019.
Even when they have operated, the schedule is intermittent. Call the number listed.

The nice thing is that you can cross the bay this way - Point Lookout to Crisfield.

PS - It takes two ferries to cross the bay.
Point Lookout to Smith Island
Smith Island to Crisfield

Kinda pricey, too.

I took Smith Island Cruises' boats from Crisfield to Smith Island and from Smith Island to Point Lookout last week (July 2026) with a loaded bike.

Booking a one-way trip on the first leg is no problem. You can do it online. $25 for me and $5 for the bike.

The Crisfield–Point Lookout segment, on the other hand, can be problematic. The company discourage one-way bookings because this ferry runs only when the weather is good and even then only if there is a minimum number of passengers booked. They booked me because these conditions had been met. Otherwise ... who knows. This was pricier: $45 for me plus $5 for the bike.

I wrote up some info on ferries for my tour journal: https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=3d2&page_id=708500&v=u
