Lewis & Clark Trail #3
« on: April 13, 2019, 07:20:13 pm »
Hi, all.

Newbie here, so apologies for any ignorant questions.

Looks like the Lewis & Clark Trail #3 map is sold out on the ACA website.

Does anyone know where else I can get a copy?

If you want to go thru Yellowstone and up to Glacier -
Then you would not need Section 3.

I think I'm going to take L&C #3 in lieu of Yellowstone. As this is my first tour, I want to avoid freelancing as much as possible and stick to the mapped routes. To get to Yellowstone from Iowa City efficiently, it looks like I'd have to embark on a pretty dull, un-mapped ride across all of Iowa and Nebraska first. I'm just going to jump on the L&C at Omaha instead.

I hear you -
But you should stay attuned to roads that have been closed/washed out because of flooding.
And the flood season is not over.

If I remember correctly, you're leaving after the end of the semester.
So there could still be additional flooding.

Thanks for the reminder! I'll stay attuned to the flood reports and go across Nebraska/onto the TransAmerica trail if necessary.

You might check Omni Maps. They carry ACA Maps

Unfortunately, the L&C_Sec03 map Omni Maps shows is OLD and not recommended as it goes through Williston, ND. The route was changed to avoid the gas and oil truck traffic. It might be that their site is out of date. I will ask our Sales Director to reach out to them about this.

I don't anticipate that map being back in stock until mid-June.

You might also consider purchasing that section for use on your phone via the Bicycle Route Navigator app.
