Enjoyed the video and your relaxed approach. I especially liked that you didn't see the need to do big miles everyday.  But I need to ask a question about your handlebars. Most people would look at then and say they are upside down. It seems to work for you. Does having them mounted like that ever cause any problems?

I have the same question about the handlebars. To each his own I suppose.

When we were kids, probably middle school, we would turn our handlebars up, I guess to be cool. A couple of years ago after many years of bending over drop bars I was looking for a more upright riding position, so I decided to turn the bars up. This took alot of weight off of my hands and wrists and made riding more comfortable. One day I was riding in Missouri and I stopped at a bike shop. The bike mechanic saw my bars and laughed. He called it "gangster" style or Chicago style. That made me laugh, because I grew up in the Chicago suburbs. Since 2015, I've been experimenting with flat bars, riser bars, comfort bars. Lately, I've been having trouble with my shoulder. My doctor says its from biking and I suspect it might be my bars. I just need to find the right set up.

Thanks for the vid Smudgy .... love it.  Saved it.  Will rewatch from time to time.  Thanks again.
Regarding your and others thoughts & comments on inverted handlebars.....
For the sake of handle grip position added options ....
I have for years ridden using what the bicycle industry used to call Rooster Tails
(& now calls Bar Ends)
which I have mounted in an inverted / forward postion on flat handle bars.
Take a look at this Walmart Link and zoom in on the pix in the collage in the lower right quadrant of the grouping entitled "Forward."
In forward position, I mount my Bar Ends not on the ends of the handlebars but on the inside of the handlebar grips.

As you can see in the above, these Bar Ends are bare metal .... for added comfort and grip (for added safety, as well)
I added handlebar grips over the Bar Ends to cover over the bare metal.
- Great Adventure Wishes.
